Dr. Zillich's broad research interest is in the integration of pharmacy services in the health care system and developing and evaluating models of pharmaceutical care. He studies (1) the roles of professional collaborative relationships between pharmacists and other health care providers; (2) the effectiveness of pharmacy-based services on improved medication prescribing, patient safety, and patient health outcomes, and (3) methods to improve prescribing and utilization of medications. Dr. Zillich current and future cancer-related research goals include development and testing of interventions which increase the provision of tobacco cessation education and counseling among healthcare professionals. More specifically, he is particularly interested in interventions which target improving tobacco cessation counseling among pharmacists and pharmacies.
