Dr. Alan McGuire studies the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based psychosocial interventions for chronic conditions. His work includes examining the implementation of recovery-oriented inpatient acute mental health care and evidence-based and guideline-concordant non-pharmacological treatment for chronic pain, headache, and opioid use disorders. Dr. McGuire is the recipient of a VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Career Development Award and investigator-initiated research awards from the National Institutes of Health, VA Health Services Research and Development, and VA QUERI. Dr. McGuire is a clinical psychologist providing psychotherapeutic services in the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC Mental Health Clinic.
